Sustainable Minimalism by Stephanie Seferian

Break the consumption cycle. Eco-minimalism is a hot-button issue right now, and for good reason. Living a life with less can be the key to saving our precious planet. We are addicted to buying and then storing things; It’s a constant cycle―one that many are longing to break. Who wants their hard-earned money to go toward something that soon ends up in a landfill?

A guide to eco-minimalism with a plan that is realistic. Manufacturing "stuff" exploits Earth's precious (and finite) resources. And then there's the harsh reality of where it all goes. Our discarded possessions ultimately head to landfills and contribute to environmental pollution, releasing greenhouse gases during breakdown and decomposition. Learn to master the easiest tasks first and build upon your successes―a practical and stress-free process. Now that’s sustainable!

The Food Revolution by John Robbins

#1 Bestseller in Agriculture & Food Policy

A revolution in food-politics. When John Robbins released an early version of this book in 1987, he took the first steps in the food revolution. His insight into the harm caused by America’s eating habits was a wake-up call for many.

Making conscious food choices. It is obvious to us that what we eat affects our bodies, but what we may not realize is that what we eat also affects our world. In fact, most of the foods that are bad for us (think genetically modified products) also negatively impact our environment. By approaching our eating habits with intentionality, we benefit our own health and that of the world we live in.

I love love love her idea on how to make indoor snowballs with egg cartons. I am definitely going to have to try that with my kiddos since my smallest one has decided that it has to snow for Christmas. Poor baby doesn't know snow is hard to come by in Alabama :( For my guest post I wanted to share a little DIY with you guys that involves duct tape! A few months ago my daughter's little chair that goes with her table she sits at every day tore and she made it worse by pulling all of the stuffing out of the seat! What started out as a quick fix turned into a great idea. She loved her seat so much that she has now decided that her table has look cool too so being the smarty pants that she is, she tore her table!
