I think it's a good idea to have a home improvement loan and get all of the work done at once. It saves on nerves too because sometimes it can be stressful to renovate. Especially whether to buy a home ready to go or one that you will want to renovate. I tend to like older homes and of course updating is a part of the process... but buying new is refreshing as it is ready to go... no upgrades needed.
