In keeping with the St. Patrick's Day theme we decided to make it a rainbow day today! To make your very own rainbow macaroni or any other pasta for that matter all you need is:
- Pasta
- Food Coloring
- An empty container with a lid
Pour about a cup of pasta into the container and add a few drops of desired color into the container. Put the lid on and shake until pasta is completely coated in color. So simple but so much fun.
We had hours of fun gluing our pasta rainbows this morning.

What to do with all that left over pasta? Well it turns out that it makes a beautiful decoration in a clear vase. So I filled my shamrock bouquet display with a rainbow.
I think it's cute I will probably keep it hanging around after St. Patrick's Day because I like it so much. I was thinking about getting different sizes and shapes of vases and filling them with colored pasta as a new decor idea.
It's funky, it's frugal, and it's fun!
