Make Your Home Feel Fresh This Feb

Christmas is one of the messiest times of the year, but also the busiest which means we don’t get a chance to do a big house cleanup. January’s much the same, except for reasons that more closely align to the fact that no one wants to do anything but recover from Christmas. However, we are now in February and that means it is time to get your home feeling fresh again. But where do you start? Luckily, that’s where we come in. We have come up with a few areas you should concentrate on first to give your home that proud glow it had before Christmas. Our tips and tricks may be small, but they can have a huge impact. Enjoy.

Let Some Air In.
Chances are we have had the heating on full and the fire lit all the time, which is a sure fire way to feel cozy but not fresh. So now that the outside is getting a little milder, why not open a window or door for a half-hour or so and let some air into your house; fresh air. One thing is for sure; it will get away from that stale winter feel. Of course, you may think this is totally bonkers because it is still freezing where you are. As such, why not pull on some thick socks, thick pajamas, and a nice thick duvet and crack the bedroom window just a little bit for a night.

Trust Your Nose.
You may have become a little more immune to smells during the assault that is Christmas, but now is the time to trust your nose and that means following it. So if something smells off, find the source and solve the issue. It could be something in your fridge or a rotting compost heap. It could be that your drains need a good blast of bleach. You may even need to learn a little bit about dirty sock syndrome, which is probably not what you imagine it is.

New Smells Please.
The most gorgeous way of accomplishing this is with bouquets of fresh flowers, and that’s because they don’t just create a beautiful aroma. They attract our eyes. People are inherently enlivened a bit by the site of flowers in the home, the blooming colors sat adorn the kitchen table or mantelpiece in the living room. However, buying new flowers twice a week can come with a hefty price tag, so why not pop out and get a diffuser of some kind. They work absolute wonders.

Go For The Deep Clean.
Yup, we all have to do it now and then, so why not put on your favourite album, or favourite Spotify playlist and make the most out of it. Give the bathroom a good going over. Tackle the kitchen. Hover everywhere, every stair and every nook and cranny. Tackle your bedroom. Literally give your entire house a blitz with mop, vacuum, dust cloth, sprays and warm sponge. We all feel good after a deep clean.
