On June 24,

Visit your local store and grab a cold treat that'll leave you feeling warm.

Sobeys Inc., parent company of Safeway, are celebrating Canada's 150th with a warm-hearted community campaign. As a proud Canadian company, Sobeys will be hosting Canada Screams for Ice Cream at store locations across Western Canada in support of local youth-focused charities. On Saturday, June 24, customers will be invited to visit their local Sobeys, Safeway or IGA store and make a $2 donation in exchange for a tasty ice cream bar. One hundred per cent of funds raised will provide healthy meals and snacks for more than 100 local charities across Western Canada. Sobeys Inc. will also match donations raised, to a total of $100,000. Funds raised in Kelowna will be donated to Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs.

The Canada Screams for Ice Cream event will also mark the launch of Sobeys Inc.’s Kids Paying-it-Forward program. The program will see 150 kids from participating charities each receive $500 in gift cards to donate to a community group that has helped their family, friends or neighbours. Through this initiative, a total of $75,000 will be donated, allowing Sobeys Inc. to help Canadian charities shape future leaders and caring Canadians.

Did you know 1 in 6 kids go hungry in Canada? In addition to food banks, youth organizations are also seeing a rise in kids coming to their programs hungry – at schools, clubs and shelters.

Starting June 19th, we’re coming together to celebrate Canada’s 150th so our local communities can benefit tomorrow.

Our celebration of the communities we proudly serve will continue throughout the summer. We’ve partnered up with our June 24th charity partners to empower 150 kids from across Western Canada to pay-it-forward. Each youth will receive $500 in Sobeys, Safeway and IGA gift cards to donate to a cause that has helped their family, neighbour or friend. It’s a great big ‘shout out’ to caring kids who are passionate about making better food possible – just like us.

DIY Table Revamp - Guest Post

Hi all! I'm Tiffany from This Motherhood is Brought to You by Xanax and I am so excited to be a part of the Guest Post Swap and to be Amanda's swap partner! I love love love her idea on how to make indoor snowballs with egg cartons. I am definitely going to have to try that with my kiddos since my smallest one has decided that it has to snow for Christmas. Poor baby doesn't know snow is hard to come by in Alabama :( For my guest post I wanted to share a little DIY with you guys that involves duct tape! A few months ago my daughter's little chair that goes with her table she sits at every day tore and she made it worse by pulling all of the stuffing out of the seat! What started out as a quick fix turned into a great idea. She loved her seat so much that she has now decided that her table has look cool too so being the smarty pants that she is, she tore her table!
