How to Help Your Family Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle This Summer

Summer is fast approaching which means going on vacation, spending lots of time with family and friends. If you maintain a healthy lifestyle you will feel good inside and out! These tips will allow you to easily incorporate them into your daily routine.

Eating Right

Eating correctly is essential to having a healthy lifestyle. Now this doesn't exclude the occasional ice cream run, but it does involve mindful eating. Mindful eating is easy, allowing you to eat in moderation, incorporating fruits and vegetables into daily meals.

Changing the diet can be hard, but mindful eating makes this process a whole lot easier. It is best to start cutting back on sugary and processed foods. Developing an awareness of the dangers of sugar overconsumption is imperative. Did you know 78% of Americans have had their first cavity by the age of 17? Start by replacing sugary processed foods with fruits and vegetables. For example, having cold berries on a hot summer day will offer a sweet form of refreshment.

That doesn't mean that all modified foods are bad, though. For instance, almost 95% of sugar beet seeds have been genetically modified. In many cases, modifications like this serve to make staples like rice and potatoes more nutrient-dense. Eating at home is another way to incorporate healthy eating habits. Instead of eating takeout multiple times a week, plan your meals. This is not only healthier but will help you save money.

Having a clean kitchen and fridge will help motivate you to cook. According to Houzz, nearly a third of homeowners said after renovating their kitchen they ate healthier. Organizing your kitchen will help ease the task of meal planning and cooking.

Exercising Regularly

It is recommended to get 30 minutes of exercise daily. This can be achieved by walking, running, swimming, and other outdoor activities that require movement. Getting the heart pumping for at least 30 minutes a day for about five days a week is enough for your physical well-being. Exercising doesn't have to be boring, it can include yoga or even taking a Zumba dance class. Do something fun!! Something that motivates you to continue to be the best version of yourself.

Plan Together as Family

Planning with family is the best and most convenient way to have a healthy lifestyle. This ranges from planning meals together, cooking together as a family, and planning activities. Set time aside to plan daily walks and other outdoor activities like ride bicycles, playing tag on the lawn, doing jump rope, playing soccer, dancing, or swimming. Plan a trip together, whether it is short or big. Plan and ask your family what they would enjoy doing the most. Plan a beach day or a camping trip with your family. Every family is different, so plan accordingly. It is best to write a schedule on a calendar. This will make it easier to stick to. Spending time together is the best way to have a great summer.

Take Initiative and Be Happy and Healthy This Summer

You can make the most of your family time by making it fun using these healthy ideas. Eating right, exercising, and planning your week will make your summer stress-free. Following and incorporating any of these tips will help ensure you and your family have a happy and healthy summer.

I love love love her idea on how to make indoor snowballs with egg cartons. I am definitely going to have to try that with my kiddos since my smallest one has decided that it has to snow for Christmas. Poor baby doesn't know snow is hard to come by in Alabama :( For my guest post I wanted to share a little DIY with you guys that involves duct tape! A few months ago my daughter's little chair that goes with her table she sits at every day tore and she made it worse by pulling all of the stuffing out of the seat! What started out as a quick fix turned into a great idea. She loved her seat so much that she has now decided that her table has look cool too so being the smarty pants that she is, she tore her table!

If you are moving to a house that is not entirely ready, you have massive things to do. To make things smooth, create a list based on priorities.
