Why Increasing My Blog Traffic Is the Only Way to Turn My Travel Dreams Into Reality

If I ever want to turn my blog into my main source of income—and eventually buy a travel trailer so my husband and I can travel the globe—I have to get serious about increasing my blog traffic. Not casually serious. Life-changing serious.

Blog traffic isn’t just about numbers on a screen. It’s about freedom. It’s about building an income that isn’t tied to one place, one schedule, or one version of life. And for me, that means learning how the behind-the-scenes stuff actually works… even when it feels overwhelming at first.

Learning What “Ahrefs” and DA Even Meant

When I first started hearing terms like Ahrefs, Domain Authority (DA), and backlinks, I honestly had no clue what any of it meant. I just wanted to write, share my experiences, and maybe make some money along the way.

But after doing some thorough research, I finally understood something important:

If I want my blog to make real money, people actually have to find it.

That’s where Ahrefs and DA ratings come in.

Ahrefs helps measure how strong and trustworthy a website is based on how many other quality sites link back to it. Your DA rating reflects that authority. The higher it is, the more search engines trust you—and the more traffic you can get.

Right now, my DA sits at 18. That’s not terrible… but it’s nowhere near where it needs to be if I want consistent traffic, strong ad revenue, affiliate income, and real opportunities.

The Truth About Increasing Blog Traffic

Here’s the part that really changed everything for me:

There is no shortcut.

Increasing website traffic—and improving your Ahrefs and DA—comes down to one core thing:

Creating high-quality content that people genuinely want to read, share, and link to.

Not keyword-stuffed fluff.

Not rushed posts.

Not content written just to “post something.”

Search engines reward value. Real humans reward value. And when people love what you write, they share it. When they share it, others link to it. And when quality sites link to you, your DA grows.

It’s a ripple effect.

How I’m Working to Increase My DA Rating

If I want this blog to grow—and help fund my dream life—I have to:

  • Create in-depth, helpful, honest content
  • Write articles people bookmark and come back to
  • Answer questions people are actually searching for
  • Share knowledge that helps others grow their income
  • Build trust, not just traffic

The goal isn’t just to raise my DA number. The goal is to build a blog that deserves a higher DA.

Because when my DA grows:

  • My website traffic increases
  • My content ranks higher on Google
  • My income opportunities expand
  • My dream becomes more realistic

Helping Others Grow While Growing My Own Income

One of the biggest motivations behind my blog is helping others—especially those who want to improve their income, gain more freedom, or build something of their own.

By sharing what I’m learning about:

  • Increasing website traffic
  • Improving DA ratings
  • Creating content that earns backlinks
  • Building sustainable online income

…I’m not just helping myself. I’m helping others shorten the learning curve and avoid the confusion I felt at the beginning.

And when people succeed because of something I shared? That’s the kind of impact that keeps a blog growing organically.

Let’s Get On It

If I want a future where my husband and I are towing a travel trailer, waking up in new places, and living life on our own terms—this work matters.

That means committing to better content.

Learning SEO even when it feels uncomfortable. Ahrefs.com is an excellent tool for leaning all these new tech terms.

Showing up consistently.

And believing that a DA of 18 is just the beginning—not the ceiling.

So let’s get on it.

Because blog traffic isn’t just traffic—it’s the road that leads to freedom.
