Watching someone you love suffer is one of the hardest things imaginable.
Over the past few years, my husband Chris has battled some of the worst pain I have ever witnessed. As a roofer, his job is incredibly demanding. Every day requires lifting, carrying, climbing, hammering, and using both arms constantly. Roofing isn’t a job where you can simply take it easy for a few weeks while you recover.
What started as soreness eventually became something much more serious.
There were nights when Chris couldn’t sleep at all. He would spend hours sitting upright, rocking back and forth, trying to find any position that offered even a small amount of relief. He couldn’t lie down. He couldn’t sit comfortably. Every movement seemed to make the pain worse.
The pain became so severe that we made multiple trips to the emergency room looking for answers.
After his third ER visit, doctors referred him to specialists to investigate whether carpal tunnel syndrome was causing his symptoms. He underwent nerve conduction testing, and the results pointed in a different direction. Instead of carpal tunnel syndrome, doctors determined that Chris was suffering from severe tendinitis.
For someone whose livelihood depends on physical labor, the diagnosis was devastating.
Unlike many injuries that improve with complete rest, Chris couldn’t simply stop working indefinitely. Roofing is how he supports our family, and his profession demands strength, endurance, and constant use of his arms and hands.
Searching for Relief
We tried everything we could think of to manage the pain.

While some of those options helped take the edge off, the underlying pain remained. Chris still experienced flare-ups, sleepless nights, and days where even basic tasks felt overwhelming.
The emotional toll was significant. Chronic pain affects every part of life, from work and sleep to mood and overall quality of life.
That’s when we started researching alternative approaches and came across discussions about a peptide called BPC-157.
What Is BPC-157?
BPC-157 stands for “Body Protection Compound-157.” It is a synthetic peptide derived from a protective protein found naturally in the stomach.
Researchers have been studying BPC-157 for its potential effects on tissue repair, inflammation, and healing. Most of the research to date has been conducted in animals, and human studies remain limited.
Some of the potential benefits being explored include:
- Support for tendon and ligament healing
- Reduced inflammation
- Improved recovery from injuries
- Potential support for muscle repair
- Possible improvements in joint comfort and mobility
- Enhanced blood vessel formation during healing
However, it is important to note that BPC-157 is still considered experimental and has not been approved by major regulatory agencies for treating medical conditions.
Our Experience
After reading countless personal stories online, we decided to try BPC-157 ourselves.
To be clear, this is simply our family’s personal experience and not medical advice.
Within a couple of weeks, we noticed a dramatic difference.
The constant pain that had dominated Chris’s life seemed to fade. The severe flare-ups became far less frequent. He was sleeping again. He wasn’t spending evenings stuck on the couch suffering.
Most importantly, he was able to return to living his life.
Seeing him able to work comfortably, enjoy time with the family, and get through the day without obvious agony felt incredible after everything he had endured.
The Downsides and Unknowns
While our experience has been extremely positive, it’s important to discuss the downsides as well.
Because BPC-157 is still experimental:
- Long-term safety data is limited.
- Human clinical research remains relatively scarce.
- It is not approved as a medical treatment for tendinitis or chronic pain.
- Product quality can vary significantly between suppliers.
- Individual results may differ.
What worked for Chris may not work for everyone. I am willing to bet that this stuff will work for other inflammatory issues like carpel tunnel, arthritis, tennis elbow and more. If you are suffering from inflammation and joint pain give it a try, you have nothing to lose. We are going to be adding a good multi vitamin and a couple other peptides to the mix as well to try and keep his immunity up and pain away for good. Final Thoughts
Living with chronic tendinitis can be absolutely exhausting. Watching Chris struggle through sleepless nights, emergency room visits, specialist appointments, and constant pain was heartbreaking.
For our family, BPC-157 has been one of the most surprising discoveries we’ve ever made. While the science is still evolving and more research is needed, our personal experience has been overwhelmingly positive.
Today, Chris is back on the roof, back with his family, and back to doing the things he loves without the constant cloud of pain hanging over him.
And after everything we’ve been through, that’s something we’re incredibly grateful for.
