Wandering Wenda - New Series

KIDS’ CBC GREENLIGHTS WANDERING WENDA BASED ON BEST-SELLING AUTHOR MARGARET ATWOOD’S CHILDREN’S BOOK THE WIDE WORLD OF WANDERING WENDA

Kids’ CBC today announced that new animated series WANDERING WENDA (26x8) from Breakthrough Entertainment has been greenlit. Inspired by Margaret Atwood’s children’s book The Wide World of Wandering Wenda, the alliterative series follows young Wenda and her two best friends as they embark on magical adventures.  Production by Breakthrough Entertainment and PIP Animation began in November 2015 and broadcast is slated for winter 2017.

“I'm delighted that Wenda has wandered her way into the wild world of television and wish her well on her adventures,” said author Margaret Atwood.

“Kids’ CBC is home to an impressive line-up of original children’s programming developed by top-tier talent and storytellers and Margaret Atwood’s Wandering Wenda is a perfect addition to our portfolio,” said Martin Markle, senior director of Children's Content for CBC. “We are excited to welcome Wenda to the Kids’ CBC family.”

Children will be transported into an exhilarating world of action, adventure and alliteration as they follow Wenda and her two best friends, Wu and Wesley Woodchuck on a series of wild, weird and wonderfully exciting adventures. No matter where Wenda wanders, she always finds herself mixed up in the middle of mayhem and when the going gets tough she uses her words. With some quick wordplay, Wenda manages to get out of the trickiest situations. By changing words she is able to shape her adventure and adapt the world around her to help her out of some sticky situations. Each episode will be a whimsical, globe-trotting adventure of sound, word and letter exploration aimed at early readers. Wenda and her friends allow audiences to share as they venture into daring exploits and new travel destinations, and armed with the power of words there is nothing they can’t overcome.

“We’re beyond thrilled to be working with Margaret Atwood on her inspiring children’s stories and cannot imagine a better home for this magical series than Kids’ CBC,” said Joan Lambur, executive vice president, Family Entertainment, Breakthrough Entertainment.

DIY Table Revamp - Guest Post

Hi all! I'm Tiffany from This Motherhood is Brought to You by Xanax and I am so excited to be a part of the Guest Post Swap and to be Amanda's swap partner! I love love love her idea on how to make indoor snowballs with egg cartons. I am definitely going to have to try that with my kiddos since my smallest one has decided that it has to snow for Christmas. Poor baby doesn't know snow is hard to come by in Alabama :( For my guest post I wanted to share a little DIY with you guys that involves duct tape! A few months ago my daughter's little chair that goes with her table she sits at every day tore and she made it worse by pulling all of the stuffing out of the seat! What started out as a quick fix turned into a great idea. She loved her seat so much that she has now decided that her table has look cool too so being the smarty pants that she is, she tore her table!
