Black Friday is the perfect time to get your holiday shopping done. Stores will have tons of incredible items in stock, and they’ll have them set at great prices.

If you’re hoping to jump on Black Friday deals this year, follow these four savvy shopping tips.

1. Make a Shopping Budget

Set aside some time to look at your household budget and see how much you can reasonably afford to spend on products during this special sales event. This will be your shopping budget.

Why is it so important to make a shopping budget? A shopping budget can prevent you from going overboard and spending more than you can really afford to. You don’t want to get caught up in the excitement of filling up your cart and then find out a week later that you’ve emptied your checking account before your next payday.

An empty checking account will make you vulnerable to some serious financial problems, like getting an emergency expense that you can’t pay for. If you’re ever in that position, you could use your credit card or a fast online loan to cover an emergency expense when you don’t have funds available. Look for online loans available in your home state. So, if you live in Oklahoma, you’ll want to specifically search for loans in Oklahoma when you’re dealing with an emergency. As long as you meet the qualifications for these Oklahoma loans, you can apply.

2. Shop Online

Avoid the frenzy of aggressive shoppers at the mall. You don’t have to deal with crowded entrances, long lineups and rude customers when you shop online. You can sit by your computer with a cup of coffee and browse your favorite retail websites without stress.

Can you get the same deals online as you do with in-person shopping? Of course! Plenty of retailers offer the same discounted rates and deals for their customers online on Black Friday. Other retailers set their deals on Cyber Monday — this is a special sales event for online shopping deals that occurs on the Monday after Black Friday.

3. Use Your Credit Card

Another savvy tip that you should follow on Black Friday is to use your credit card. Your credit card can provide several benefits that will come in handy during major shopping sprees. Your card could offer extended warranties and purchase protection for all of the items you buy.

Certain credit cards also offer cashback rewards for in-store and online purchases with certain retailers. This can help you save even more during Black Friday! You can get a little bit of cash back with every item you add to your cart.

When using credit, you should still follow your shopping budget. Use the savings from your budget to pay down your credit balance immediately after making your purchase — that way, you’ll avoid interest charges.

4. Do Your Research

Research the items that you need and want ahead of time. Look into reviews to learn what other customers had to say about the items. See what other retailers are offering the items and compare prices. This will help you decide what to buy and where to buy it.

Doing your research ahead of time will also help you avoid fake Black Friday deals. Don’t get scammed and lose your money. Amazon reviews are some of the most honest and trustworthy so whether your buying a massager or a bed you will know whether it’s high quality when you read the reviews from Amazon customers.

Black Friday is the biggest shopping event of the year. Follow these tips to make the most of it.
