As a busy mom it can be hard to make time for everything. My youngest doesn’t like to bath everyday so his hair can get pretty greasy and with him being autistic he can be super picky with how I maintain his greasy hair in the morning.
We decided to start using dry shampoo in between and it is actually pretty expensive to buy the sprays. These days we are looking to cut back on as much as we can to stretch our budget further so I started looking into dry shampoo recipes and tweaked one perfectly for my family.
This shampoo contains nothing more than:
If you have brown or dirty blonde hair this recipe is perfect but there are many other recipe additions you can use if you have red or blonde or colourful hair.
1 cup corn starch
1 cup cocoa powder
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 cup baking soda
6-10 drops essential oil (we like freesia)
Combine all ingredients into air tight container and shake it up! You may need to add more of any of the ingredients to create the perfect mix for yourself but this one works well for us. If you find you used too much and it’s showing you can either towel fluff and toss it more or use your blow dryer and brush it through!
