Ogoplay Party!

So my little girl had her 3rd birthday party at Ogoplay. It was a blast! Ogoplay is West Kelowna's first indoor playground. It consists of a huge play area with like 4 different levels, probably around 20 different areas to explore within the playground, 4 very fast red slides, a swirly green slide, a small yellow slide, a small zipline type thing you see at most school playgrounds, and numerous obstacles throughout. Outside of the playground they have a dragon bouncy house, a toddler area with soft easy to climb around on structures and a small, soft slide, a merry go round, a miniature Ferris wheel ride, a ride on Lightning Mcqueen, toy dispensers, candy crane, and of course the concession! The prices are very reasonable considering what you get for your money.

Easter is coming and I need to decorate a little bit. But I will not buy any decorations. So we made our own eggs to hang on the wall with just construction paper and crayons. It doesn't get any easier, or cheaper. The kids really enjoy seeing their art displayed around the house, they love making them, and I save money. Now that is a win win!

Brooke made the purple egg and Tyson helped me with the yellow one and did his own green one. Very cute!

And of course we cannot forget my sweet baby Troy. He is growing like a weed and is such a good baby. He is going to be crawling in no time. He is now 4 months old.

Soothing Foot Bath and Cream

Soothing Footbath:
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop rosemary essential oil
  • 1 drop geranium essential oil
  • 1/2 cup epsom salts
1. Fill the tub or soaking pan with nice warm water enough to cover the feet.

2. Stir in the oils and epsom salts until the salts dissolve.

3. Soak for 10 mins or more, you can keep adding more warm water and sit til your satisfied.

Foot Cream:
  • 1/2 cup grated or shaved beeswax
  • 3/4 cup almond oil or coconut oil
1. Place the beeswax and oil in a double boiler over simmering water. Mix until they are well blended and the wax is melted.

2. Remove from heat and pour into two 4 ounce containers with tight fitting lids.

3. Allow to cool before applying to feet. Spread on feet before bed and cover with soft cotton socks. In the morning your feet are going to feel amazing.

After my feet are relaxed and super soft I clip my toenails and apply a strengthening clear coat to keep my nails looking nice. You can always apply color of course, I'm just not a colorful toenail kind of girl!

Do your kids love finger painting as much as mine do? I hate buying finger paints because they vanish so quickly and can be pretty costly. So I make my own for next to nothing.

Photo Puzzle Review!

I was super lucky to be able to review a beautiful photo puzzle this week! It is an actual photo of my kids on a thick toddler puzzle! It is such a high quality photo and super sturdy puzzle its absolutely stunning. I got it from Joslin Photo Puzzles. They are the makers of the original photo puzzle. Here is some more information about this outstanding company!

In the early 1970's Marcia Joslin launched her career as the first woman Puzzlemaker, producing personalized jigsaw puzzles in a variety of shapes, sizes and number of pieces. Custom jigsaw puzzles are made from photos, magazine pages, children's drawings or anything printed on paper.

Now she makes precut blank jigsaw puzzles which were especially created to be used with heat transfers made from color laser copiers, sublimation, ink jet transfers, etc.

Dominos Pizza Review!

I had the honour of reviewing some amazing pizza from Domino's tonight! I was treated like a queen for a day from the most amazing general manager here at our local West Kelowna Domino's location. Amanda Kristiansen is the wonderful GM who took my order today and was super helpful, very informative and knowledgeable and a pleasure to speak with.

Wow. I was so excited to see the pizza man with this many boxes. It was like Christmas for my kids as soon as he opened up his pizza bag their eyes lit up.

As you can see I wasn't quick enough with my camera, I had to change the batteries and by the time I was done they were already digging in.

Domino's is very high quality pizza, it is identical to the beautiful photos you see on their menus.

The Meatzza Feast was just fantastic as usual and the new Pan Pizza was absolutely perfect!

I had ordered a Meatzza Feast and a cheese Pan Pizza, and because this was a review I let her select the other components up for review. She chose Cheesy Bread and delicious Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes! If chocolate were a food group this cake is what would symbolize chocolate on the food guide. They are the most satisfying chocolate cake, its crunchy on the outside with a warm, gooey, molten chocolate centre.

Don't you just want to lick the screen right now? Yum.

Wreck It Ralph Review!

Storyline

Follows an arcade game Bad Guy determined to prove he can be a Good Guy.

Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?

My Review:

Wreck it Ralph is an awesome movie! Disney has done it again! Instant classic for sure! Its a heart warming animation about the bad guy, from the classic game Fix It Felix Jr., Wreck it Ralph. And a little cutie pie named Venelope von Schweets. They become friends and have an awesome adventure together! This movie is said to be the best animated film since Toy Story 3. It is terrific and I am in love with it and so are my kids! And if you want to play the 3 main games featured in the film you can on your computer and do some other super cool stuff on Disney.go.com

Fluffy Golden Coin Pancakes

Ingredients:

3/4 cup of milk
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
6-7 drops yellow food coloring

1. Begin by adding the milk and vinegar to a large bowl. Stir an let stand for 5 mins to "sour". After 5 minutes stir in sugar, vanilla, egg and melted butter.

2. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt. Stir until all the lumps are gone. Add in your food coloring til you get your desired color.

3. Cook by 1/4 cup of batter at a time on a large skillet or griddle on medium heat until bubbles appear on surface, flip and cook til brown on the other side about 2 mins.

You cant really tell from the pictures how beautifully yellow or golden they are but trust me they look nice. You can garnish them with something green like kiwi, honeydew, or a mint leaf for that added St. Patricks Day touch.

This is a really nice fluffy pancake mix. I have tried quite a few because I love pancakes and this is a winner!

I am in desperate need of a new skillet. This one has seen better days!

Here is my lovely stack of golden coin pancakes! Yummy!
