JUST JUNK shares tips, romantic finds just in time for Valentine's Day

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, love is in the air — but as the crews at JUSTJUNK know, it’s also hiding out in the garbage sometimes.

The Canadian junk removal company decided to get in on the action and show its romantic side as Feb. 14th approaches with a few tips and cool finds that would do Cupid proud.

Antique Wedding Dress Rescued

Deb Darbyshire, owner/operator of Calgary’s JUSTJUNK franchise, recovered an early 1900s wedding dress from the garbage during a recent clean-up. “It was a really fragile wedding dress, all hand-stitched. It also came with the bride’s veil and handmade headdress.”

Mood Music

Who doesn’t love music? These collections are often removed after years of a couple and family collecting then. Generations of music appreciation and gift giving are the signs of a loving, welcoming home that shares in these gifts and it’s always a shame when they have to go.

Who Doesn’t Love Cash?

What’s the best Valentines gift? For some people it’s the thought that counts more and they realize that their interests are a little tougher for their loved ones to understand. This is where gift cards or cash come in handy, not to mention saving on gifts that don’t quite end up lasting long after the spring cleaning purge. We’ve caught some large cash hauls from overwhelmed downsizing couples who didn’t realize that it was on its way to the landfill more than once, including a find of $200,000 in Aurora, Ont. this January.

New Appliances

We see a lot of appliances come and go in the winter, but February seems to be a common time. Appliances like dishwashers, washers, dryers and stoves make life easier for couples and families to spend time doing what they want. So show the kids when they’re young how to load these up so you can go out for Valentine’s Day instead of staying in.

The Gift of Space

Why wait until spring to clean? Happy couples become happier with the prospect of more space, and getting a jumpstart on spring cleaning (even though it’s cold) leads to better enjoyment of warmer weather when March and April arrive, and the reward lasts much longer than just on Valentine’s Day.

With franchises across the country, JUSTJUNK removes unwanted materials/items from residential and commercial properties including furniture, appliances, garden refuse and construction and demolition debris.
