This holiday season many daycare centres will be having holiday parties and get together a to celebrate and show appreciation for all that the daycare staff does throughout the year. To make things more interesting you can have a scavenger hunt type game where staff takes photos of themselves doing certain tasks throughout the week (not including children) to win a prize. The prize can be a small bonus, a gift basket, a paid day off, and anything else you can think of that your staff may enjoy.
Naming the winner and having a brag board available for all to see in the staff area or newsletter is always a great idea as well.
To get the best and silliest photos you need to think outside the box so I have compiled a list of activities your staff could be recreating to get the best shots and have a great time doing it!

Bum Change Bloopers!
Have the staff recreate a diaper change (using a doll of course) and have an incident happen that we have all endured or tried to avoid at some point. A poop explosion, diaper on wrong, baby powder or cream mess, getting peed on, etc.
Monkey Toddlers!
Have you ever walked into a room and seen a toddler standing on a countertop? Turned around for one second and had a kid climb the bookshelf? We all have those climbing kids that try to scale everything like it’s Mount Everest, catch your baby in the act! Like a toddler in a Christmas tree perhaps?
Miserable Mornings!
Have you ever had a child show up in a terrible mood? Chugging back a sugar filled drink at arrival? Snot running down their nose and being sucked into their mouths is always a favourite! Recreate the morning from hell and snap a shot of the baby (doll) doing all the things! This baby is drinking inappropriate drinks, eating hard candies, has a fever and has been medicated and is just chilling because that’s life!
Creative Catastrophe!
Have you ever tried an experiment or a craft and had it just turn out to be a total disaster? Maybe it was paint time and the kids are all the paint instead of putting it on the craft. Or you went to grab the bin of googly eyes and pompoms and they spilled everywhere just for the kids to run into and start grabbing them. Whatever dramatic disaster you have had or never wanted to experience, recreate it with your baby (doll) and snap a photo!
I’m sure you can come up with some pretty amazing and funny ideas for photo shots! Remember it’s just for fun so you can get as silly as you like. To pick the winner you can have everyone post their photos and have the parents vote for their favourites or you can simply pick them yourself.
