MOUTHWATERING RECIPES FOR THE GRILL TO KICK OFF SUMMER

Summer is the time for outdoor fun and a great reason to dust off your barbecue grill and cook a large meal for your family and friends. It gives people a reason to leave their scorching kitchens and cook their food outside in the cool summer breeze. It is as easy as throwing charcoal inside the grill, lighting it up, and cooking your favorite grilled meals on it as you relax by the pool in your comfortable chair. However, that is not to say that you can cook everything on the grill and expect it to taste great. Some traditional dishes, such as a roasted turkey, might not taste the best while you cook it on a grill top.

If you are looking for a reason to take out their BBQ grill, you have come to the right place. Grilling meat is an art within itself. It requires knowledge about meat temperature, and most of all, it is all about how you season your meat. However, don't worry, as today in this article, we will share with you some mouthwatering recipes for your grill that will help you kick off your summer with a bang. Some of these recipes are listed as follows:

GRILLED SALMON WITH PINEAPPLES

This type of dish is simple and only takes ten to fifteen minutes to be ready. Season a fillet of fresh salmon with salt, lemon, and garlic powder. In a separate bowl, add soy sauce, water, brown sugar, oil, and mix it till all the sugar dissolves. Place the seasoned salmon fillet inside this marinade and let it sit inside your fridge for 30-40 minutes.

Pull out the marinated salmon fillet from the fridge and remove any residual marinade from it.

After doing so, place it on a medium heat grill and cook for 7-9 minutes on each side, or until the fillet becomes flaky. Accompany the grilled salmon with a fresh pineapple salad or freshly grilled pineapples to complete the dish. Every best grilling blog has a recipe for this dish, so do a quick search on the internet for more detailed cooking directions.

GRILLED PAPRIKA CHICKEN WITH A SHERRY VINAIGRETTE

While grilling chicken is pretty straightforward, the dish's star is, surprisingly, the vinaigrette that you will serve along with it. To prepare the chicken's marinade, add yogurt, salt, cayenne pepper, olive oil, two tablespoons of paprika, and crushed garlic in a large bowl and whisk them together. Add chicken fillets to the bowl and toss until every chicken piece gets thoroughly coated with the marinade.

Preheat your grill to medium heat and oil the grill grate. Pat the chicken fillet dry of any residual marinade dry and place them on the grill grate, cooking for four minutes per side or until the chicken's pinkness disappears. To prepare the sherry vinaigrette, mix a one-eighth teaspoon of chili paste, one-fourth cup olive oil, ketchup, sherry vinegar, salt, and pepper inside a small bowl. Serve the chicken alongside this sherry vinaigrette or spoon it on top. Your guests will surely come for second servings.

GRILLED BABY BACK RIBS

When your guests eat this dish at your next summer cookout, they will savor the flavor of juicy and tender fall-off-the-done barbequed ribs and give you the respect you deserve as a barbeque chef. Cut into half a rack of ribs and marinate it with salt, pepper, and chili powder. Place the ribs in a preheated oven and bake them for two and a half hours. Prepare a sauce for your ribs, fry chopped onions in a saucepan for 6 minutes, and add to it tomato paste, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.

Lightly season the sauce with salt, pepper, garlic powder, liquid smoke, onion powder, dark molasses, and paprika. Let the sauce simmer for one hour and twenty-five minutes. To grill the ribs, pull them out of the oven, and place them on a preheated outdoor grill grate. Grill the ribs for 5-6 minutes per side. Also, don't forget to brush the sauce while they are on the grill. Applying it to the ribs too early will burn it. Serve the ribs with homemade bread or corn to complete the dish.

GRILLED SHRIMP

This dish is easy and fast to prepare, and will surely be a hit on your next barbeque party. Combine crushed garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, and stir them together to form a thick paste. In a separate bowl, toss cleaned deveined shrimp with a little garlic paste, salt, pepper, and a preheated grill grate.

As the shrimps cook on the grill, continually brush them with the marinade mixture. Cook the shrimps on both sides for three minutes per side. Then transfer the grilled shrimps to a serving plate, garnishing with lemon wedges.

GRILLED POTATO SALAD

There is no need to boil potatoes, as with a traditional potato salad. You only need to place them on the grill and see the magic. Add salt and drizzle olive oil on top of two large potatoes in a large bowl and lightly toss them. Fire up your outdoor grill to medium-high heat, place the potatoes on the grill grate, close the grill lid, and cook for three to 5 minutes.

To prepare a dressing for the potato salad, combine salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, garlic, and olive in a small bowl and whisk all the ingredients together. Cut the cooked potatoes into bite-size cubes and toss them with the dressing inside a salad bowl. Your potato salad is now ready to serve.

GRILLED CORN ON THE COB

Nothing screams summer barbeque more than traditional grilled corn. This simple dish requires you to place husk in corn on a medium-high preheated grill for around twenty to twenty0five minutes, or until the corn husks develop a beautiful char on them. After cooking the corn, peel away the husks and serve it with a simple butter and cilantro drizzle.

THE FINAL WORDS

Summertime is the season to fulfill all your barbeque desires. It is a time for you, your friends, and family to enjoy quality time with each other, and what better way to bring everyone together than a barbeque cookout. With the mouthwatering recipes shared today in this article, your barbeque party will surely be a hit, and people will talk about it for a long time to come. Don't forget to give them a try at your next cookout.

What Is A Lambs Tongue Skirting Board & Why Do You Need It?

Having been around for many years and taking many shapes and forms in the process, skirting boards have always been an important addition to your home. Regardless of the new trends that constantly keep emerging on the market, these never seem to go out of fashion. There are quite a few good reasons why these are so popular and why they can be found in households all over the world. One of the types of this product, known as
lambs tongue skirting boards, seems to be the most popular nowadays. This doesn’t really come as a surprise. In addition to protecting the floors and the walls, these also look amazing, which is very important for a modern household. If you are still not familiar with these, it’s time to take a closer look at them and figure out why adding them to your home might be a great idea.

Lambs Tongue Skirting Boards

Let us first see what is hidden behind this pretty unusual and slightly weird name of this profile of skirting boards. The moment you take a first glance at these, the reason for the name will become perfectly clear to you. Although it might be difficult to picture it when you see a large skirting board, the lambs tongue profile is called that way because the product resembles… guess what? A lamb’s tongue.

There are some other explanations regarding the name and those are usually connected to the deities. Yet, we will not dwell on that, since the above, logical explanation is more than enough for us. After all, it’s much more important to see what these are than to keep on looking for the origin of the name. If you dig deep enough, who knows what you might find about that origin.

This is the classic skirting board profile that we are all used to seeing in both commercial and residential settings. The lambs tongue profile has been around for quite a while and the fact that it is still used today only goes to show that its design is timeless. The design, however, is not the only reason why people are loving these products. Now that you know what these are, it’s time to take a look at why you might need them in your own home.

Wall Protection

As you might have guessed it, the first purpose of skirting boards is to protect the walls from wear and tear and accidental knocks. The lambs tongue profile will do a perfect job in this regard. These products are sturdy, durable and strong and you can rest assured that your walls will be properly protected if you opt for this type of skirting boards. They are usually made from a long-lasting material that will serve its purpose for years to come, meaning that you won’t have to worry about making changes every once in a while. If you’d like more info on how to choose the product and the material for you, the Internet can help.

Hiding Uneven Floor And Wall Edges

Few things are worse than seeing uneven and rugged edges on your walls or your floor. No matter how much effort you have put into making the interior of your home look great, these kinds of things will definitely ruin the whole appearance and I am pretty sure that they will extremely annoy you. Unless, of course, you do something about it.

That’s a cue for lambs tongue skirting boards. One of the things people love about these products is that they can act as a camouflaging piece of material. In other words, these can hide those uneven edges in no time, making your home look even more appealing than it was before. This is important both for the home you live in and the one you are trying to sell.

Decorative Purposes

Last, but not least, lambs tongue skirting boards serve a decorative purpose. There are people who don’t need these in their homes at all, but they still choose to add them, simply because they add something extra to the look of the room. They make the room more elegant and sophisticated.

16 Ideas for Celebrating Quarantine-O-Ween

Decorate Your House to the Max

Haunt the neighborhood with store-bought or DIY (or shall we say boo-it-yourself) Halloween decorations to transform the inside of your home, porch and more. We’ve compiled DIY ideas that range from Ombré Candy Corn Wine Bottles and Glow-in-the-Dark Slime, all of which you can tackle with the kiddos.

On the store-bought front, The Home Depot has SO many cool Halloween decorations this year, including a Coco-themed inflatable and Giant Dragon.

Also, apparently people are turning their Christmas trees into kitschy Halloween trees. I am here for that. Plus, there’s this super-popular RJ Legend 15-inch Halloween Ceramic Tree, which is constantly selling out but available right now at Amazon.

Set up a Candy Graveyard

I got this idea from Oriental Trading! The concept is extra cool because your yard gets decked out for Halloween and gives kids a way to social distance while trick-or-treating in it. Set up fake tombstones in your yard with prizes and candy piled up next to each tombstone. You could have each kid enter the graveyard one at a time and package up candy and prizes into individual treat bags for extra safety.

Host Zoom Costume Parties and Pumpkin-Carving Contests

Host a Halloween-themed costume or dance party on Zoom for friends and family. Create a spooktacular playlist for everyone to shake their boo things to, and have attendees show off their costumes on camera.

You can also gather remotely to decorate and carve pumpkins safely from your own homes. Interact while you craft by sharing spooky stories. At the end, award prizes (virtual prizes or ones you send via snail mail) to the best looks!

Attend a Trunk-or-Treat

Trunk-or-treating is one of the trends buzzing this year in terms of socially distant trick-or-treat substitutes. An organized event usually held in a school or church parking lot, trunk-or-treating entails decorated vehicles, and kids go trick-or-treating from car to car. You can host this in your neighborhood, too, with neighbors setting up trunk displays in the driveway and passing out candy. Note: Consider having designated adults (who commit to applying hand sanitizer) give out the candy rather than encourage lots of little hands to reach inside the bowl.

Party City has a list of 17 trunk-or-treat ideas for inspiration!

Be on the Lookout for Socially Distant Bicycle Parades and Reverse Trick-or-Treating in Neighborhoods

Another trend we’re hearing about are Halloween parades or a form of drive-by trick-or-treating. With the former, costume wearers take to the street as a catwalk to show off their costumes and hand out and collect candy. People also decorate bikes, wagons, golf carts and cars to show off their looks!

With reverse trick-or-treating, you’ll see people drive by houses similar to the COVID-19 birthday parades. Those in the car will throw candy at the kids in costumes in their yards.

Boo or Ghost People

No, not that kind of ghosting of people, y’all! Spread anonymous cheer by dropping a Halloween goodie bag or pumpkin on the doorsteps of friends and loved ones as a contact-free way to celebrate. This usually works by sneaking to your boo-ing subjects home after dark, ringing the doorbell, leaving the treats on their doorstep and running!

Oriental Trading has all sorts of fun treat bags, buckets, toys and candy to work with. Princess Pinky Girl has all sorts of fun boo ideas (pictured above).

Have a Halloween Movie Marathon

You can choose to do this one via a projector in the backyard, through Netflix Party or just with your family bubble on the couch. Pop some popcorn and throw on your favorite spooky movies and TV shows. Check out our list of Halloween-movie recommendations categorized by age.

Organize a Glow-in-the-Dark Egg Hunt

Egg hunts aren’t just for Easter. Buy Halloween-themed eggs at Amazon, or Halloween-ify old plastic eggs you already own (glow sticks work, too!) with stickers or markers. Add candy, and hide them in the yard or around the house! Grab glow sticks and glow-in-the-dark eggs at Amazon for a nighttime search.

Set up a Trick-or-Treat Driveway Table

Ditch the traditional communal Halloween candy bowl and have adults set up decorated tables or booths in their front yards where they can hand out individual bags or cups of candy. This keeps contact to a minimum while also still showcasing decorations and hauntingly good personality.

Oriental Trading has ideas for a Fortune Teller Halloween Table, Ghoul Gang Halloween Table, Peanuts Halloween Table and so much more. Plus, they’ve got you covered on all the items you need to achieve the look.

Whip Up DIY Treats or Order Halloween Specials From Restaurants

Brew up your own Halloween desserts and snacks (popcorn balls, anyone?) to enjoy at home, or order takeout from one of the restaurants serving up Halloween-themed menu items and deals.

IHOP, Papa John’s and Chipotle are expected to resurrect their themed pancakes, Jack-O’-Lantern pizza and boo-rito!

Try Out a Drive-Thru Haunted House if You’re Feeling Brave

Haunted houses will certainly look different this year, too. But drive thru, contact-free Halloween experiences are starting to make headlines. Search online for “haunted roads” or “drive thru haunted houses” to see if there is one near you!

Head to a Drive-In Theater for Halloween Movies

Drive-in theaters have made a major comeback during the pandemic. Search for a drive-in near you. Many plan to screen Halloween movies and host socially distant activities.

Make a Reservation at a Pumpkin Patch

This is TBD, but we’re expecting (and some are already announcing this) pumpkin patches to open but with safety precautions, such as cashless payment, masks, hand sanitizer, limited capacity and maybe even by reservation only to ensure social distancing and safety.

Celebrate Halloween Around the World but From Home

You might not be able to travel the globe right now, but you can do so in spirit. Educate your family and friends on Día de los Muertos in Mexico, Samhain in Ireland and Scotland, Dzień Zaduszny in Poland or Ghost Festival in East Asia. Celebrate these other traditions, and consider cooking or baking traditional foods and making crafts associated with those international events.

P.S. The Halloween Tree is a great animated movie to watch with the family; it educates and celebrates the origins and influencers of Halloween around the world. The movie is based on the novel by Ray Bradbury, and he even narrates the film!

Halloween Piñatas, Anyone?

Either in your house or in the yard, string up a Halloween-themed piñata filled with candy. Amazon and Oriental Trading have boo-tiful piñatas sure to be a hit.

Surprise Your Halloween-Loving Friends With a Spooky Celebrity Shoutout

Cameo is a service that allows you to pay actors, musicians, reality TV stars and other public figures for personalized shout-outs. Request a Halloween message on Cameo from creepy characters and beloved actors from Halloween movies, including Pennywise, Mark Patton (Jesse from Freddy’s Revenge), Danielle Harris (from Halloween) and Kimberly J. Brown (from Halloweentown). Something tells me Cameo will curate a Halloween landing page closer to October 31 with more creators!

Car crash - claiming for your kids

Statistically speaking, around sixteen and a half thousand car crashes occur every single day in the US. When we consider that America has around nineteen and half thousand cities, towns, and villages, the numbers represent almost one crash per city, town, or village, per day. And that’s every day, so, no matter where you live, there is close to one crash per day in your city/town/village (see a firm of car accident lawyer in Long Island if you have been affected).

Today, we’re going to look at the information you need to know if you are unsure about claiming compensation for your kids following a car accident.

You must act on behalf of your child

This sort of goes without saying, but children are not legally allowed to represent themselves in legal cases. While nobody expects very young children to even attempt such a thing, it’s important to remember that teenagers who may be driving and have jobs but are not yet legal adults cannot represent themselves - a parent or guardian must speak for them throughout the proceedings.

Remember - most cases do not progress to court

Following a car crash that has resulted in injury to your child, no parent or guardian wants to put their children through the potential stress of appearing in court. However, you should know that the vast majority of car crash claims do not progress to court - most settlements are reached outside of court. Why? Because lengthy court costs and eating up a law firm’s valuable time on a losing case are not a desirable way for the other side to spend its resources. Therefore, where negligence can be clearly established, the other side is likely to want to bring an end to matters as soon as possible, without involving the courts.

Statute of limitations on personal injury claims

Typically, and depending where you are in the US (or indeed, in the world) you can reasonably expect the statute of limitations on personal injury claims to range from 2 - 3 years; visit the website here.

However, there are several exceptions to the law that may come into play depending on your circumstances. For example, if you suffered an injury as a child that was not your fault - either in a car crash or under any other scenario - and if your parent(s) or guardian(s) did not begin a claim on your behalf, your statute of limitations begins from the date upon which your become a legal adult (18 years old).

You may also wish to know that if you have been living with an injury that you didn’t know was caused by a car crash when you were very young, you may be able to start you claim within the 2 - 3 year window from the date that you discovered the true nature of your injury (and that a negligent third party may be held responsible). If you are unsure of your options, always speak to a lawyer.

Practical baby gifts every parent will appreciate

Practical baby gifts every parent will appreciate

Having a newborn baby can be quite challenging. From keeping up with the sleeping schedule to changing diapers at an increased pace, new parents are often knee-deep in baby duties. And when you are invited to a baby shower or visiting for the first time, it’s a good idea to buy something useful. We’ve come up with a list of practical baby gifts every parent will appreciate. It can be your guide on buying something that both the baby and the parents will appreciate and make good use of.

A gift basket with essentials

A newborn needs everything, and so do the parents. There’s never enough diapers, baby wipes, or clothes. That’s why making a gift basket with essentials is a great practical baby gift that every parent will appreciate. With this gift, you can truly get creative. Buy a simple basket at a local shop and fill it with everything you can think of.

You can start off with a few baby-friendly toys. Just make sure that they don’t make too many sounds. Then buy a pack of diapers, a few packs of baby wipes, and finish with a nice picture book that parents can read and show to their baby.

To top things off, you can also include a few items for the parents. Those can be restaurant gift cards, a few movies on DVD, or even a good book that they can read.

Subscribe them to as many things as you can

Time is something that every new parent lacks. There’s so much to do, and yet they can’t leave the house. That’s why subscribing to them to various services can be a great time-saver. And it’s something that a baby will need and parents will appreciate. Here are some great examples:

  • A Netflix subscription is great for when the parents catch a break. They even have some great cartoons for smaller children in their catalog

  • Baby subscription boxes are a thing, and they can be quite useful. Parents would get those essentials that the baby needs on a regular basis

  • An Amazon Prime subscription is something that the parents will greatly appreciate if they don’t already have it. With it, they will not only get access to better prices and faster shipping, but it also comes with Prime Video and Prime Music.

Buy diapers and lots of them

Diapers are in high demand for every baby and its parents. No matter how many you buy, there’s always more needed, as the baby goes through them in a blink of an eye. They are essential for every parent and they can also be a big expense, especially in the early days. So, when it comes to practical baby gifts parents will appreciate, there’s nothing better than diapers.

It might be a bit tricky to pick the right size. Especially if you aren’t a parent yourself. But, if you are not sure, either check with the baby’s parents or buy a bit larger size, because sooner or later, they will fit.

Cute clothes that will put a smile on parents’ faces

Babies grow so quickly that it seems they outgrow every piece of clothing in days. That’s why parents need as much as they can get their hands on. Since they will be preoccupied with their newborn, it’s up to you to pick something that they will find cute or funny. For that, babyswag.com is a great place. They have some clothes that are so cute that you’ll want to have a baby of your own right away. And if you are an aunt or an uncle, there are some seriously cute matching sets.

Baby kitchen items are both cute and practical

From sippy cups to plastic plates and snack cups, there are so many items that parents need to have in their kitchen once the baby arrives. And there are never too many of them. So, when looking for practical baby gifts every parent will appreciate, this is it. Pick something with a cute design that the baby will find interesting. From flowers to teddy bears, print choices are endless.

When buying bottles, make sure you check first, as some parents have strong preferences when it comes to them. Some prefer glass, while others appreciate plastic. And the bottle brand can play a big role in decision making.

There’s an endless choice of cute and practical baby equipment

If you are not too keen on picking the right color of the sippy cup, or are not sure if the parents have Netflix or not, you can go for a more practical choice. There are many items that can help out parents with their babies, as well as those that will make babies more comfortable. Nursing pillows are a great choice - they come in different shapes and sizes. And even if they already own one, they’ll likely find a good use for another.

Baby wrap carries are also an excellent choice. They will allow parents to move around more easily and the baby will feel right at home tucked close to their chest.

Your time is the best gift that you can offer

In the end, nothing you can buy can even compare to the gift of time. And probably the best and most practical baby gift can be a helping hand. You can spend some quality time with the baby and give the parents a chance to get some sleep. So, offer to watch the baby or even do the dishes and wash the clothes. Every bit of help will be greatly appreciated.

In order to make it more creative, you can make custom coupons that you can print out in a local print shop. Give them funny titles and cute design - it’s something that both the parents and the baby will appreciate.

You can imagine what a beautifully crafted sex toy on the coffee table can do for conversation starters, but we know that that’s not for everyone. We’re not ashamed we masturbate, but sometimes we prefer to keep those intimate “self-love” sessions to ourselves.

That’s why for these hot summer days LELO prepared the list of some of the most discreet sex toys. They may fit in the palm of your hand, but they provide some big-time pleasure. We’re sworn into secrecy and our lips are sealed, but yours won’t be, that’s guaranteed!
